Hello all you fellow Richmonders, it's Sharon the first female jock to rome the hallways at Y101... someone had to get it smelling better in the studio! I'm a VCU alumni (go Rams), Mass Communications grad. Now, for all of you inspiring radio personalities... DON'T GO TO COLLEGE TO GET INTO RADIO. Save yourself that 25 grand for your retirement.

All kidding aside, I love radio. I actually had the opportunity to work for my favorite rock station as a kid. I started as a intern, went part -time and decided after 4 years that I must work for the newest, freshest new rock station in Richmond... the original Y101 Richmond's New Rock. Everyone says I talk too much, so why not get paid for it! Since working here at Y101, I've gotten married and had a son, Lennon. Yes, he's named after the smart Beatle.

I have a vast knowledge of old school rock... why this stuck in my brain... I blame my parents for it!! I love going to shows... there's a list of must sees in my possession... I have been privileged enough to already mark off Pearl Jam, U2, The Rolling Stones, Paul McCartney, The Grateful Dead, Robert Plant and Jimmy Page, Bob Dylan, The Allman Brothers, Traffic, CSN, Neil Young, Metallica, Ozzy, Sting... and too many more to mention. Still waiting patiently damn it for the Pink Floyd reunion... I girl can hope can't she!

So here I am working for the best new rock station in Richmond, Y101. I'm an old school girl at heart, but without new rock... what will be classic rock of the future? I must stay ahead of the game... speaking of which... GO STEELERS! Thanks for checking out my page. We'll discuss more Saturdays 2-7PM and Sundays 10-3PM.

Sharon Recommends: Wolfmother - s/t
This is one of my favorite bands of '06. These 3 curly haired Australian guys know how to ROCK! Rock hard they do! The whole album has a Zeppelin/Black Sabbath/Deep Purple feel... even a Pink Floyd aroma! There's "White Unicorn" with it's incredible drum solo provided by Heskett and Stockdale doing his damnest to scream with grace just like Robert Plant circa 1969. Just listen to "Woman" to see what I'm talking about. Other special tracks to checkout... "Witchcraft"," Love Train" & "Vagabond". This album is so good I'm thinking about getting a wolf tat!
